Privacy policy

We collect as little as we can, keep it only as long as your event needs it, and never sell it.

  1. 1.The short version

    • There are no accounts. Your private edit link is the only key to your invitation and its replies.
    • Guest replies are visible only to whoever holds the edit link, not to other guests or the public.
    • Everything is deleted seven days after your last event.
    • We do not sell personal data, show advertising or build marketing lists from your guests.
  2. 2.What we collect from hosts

    When you design and publish an invitation, we store what you put into it:

    • names, event details, venues, dress codes, messages and contact numbers you choose to show;
    • photos and music you upload;
    • your settings, guest groups, RSVP questions and any updates you post.

    We do not ask for your email address, phone number or a password to publish. If you write to us through the contact form, we keep your name, email and message so we can reply.

  3. 3.What we collect from guests

    Guests can open an invitation without giving any details. If they reply, we store what the RSVP form asks for, such as their name, phone number, number of guests, the events they will attend and any message or answers. If they take part in a poll, such as a Team Pink vs Team Blue guess, we store their choice to show the tally.

  4. 4.Who can see it

    Your invitation is visible to anyone who has its link, so share it only with people you are inviting. Replies are visible only in the dashboard, which opens with the edit link. Guests on a guest-group link see only the events assigned to their group.

    A small number of our team may access stored data when it is needed to keep the service running, fix a problem you report, or respond to a valid legal request.

  5. 5.How we use it

    Only to run Invitara: to show your invitation to guests, deliver replies to your dashboard, prevent abuse (for example by rate-limiting repeated submissions) and answer your messages. We may keep simple, anonymous counts, such as the total number of invitations published, which do not identify anyone.

  6. 6.How long we keep it

    Each invitation stays online until seven days after its last event. Then the invitation, its photos and music, its replies and its updates are permanently deleted. If you take an invitation offline and delete it from your dashboard sooner, it is removed sooner. Contact form messages are kept for up to twelve months.

  7. 7.Cookies and local storage

    We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may remember the invitations you made, so they show up under My invitations on that device. Clearing your browser data removes that list but does not delete the invitations themselves.

  8. 8.Your choices

    Hosts can edit or remove any detail, delete individual replies and take the invitation offline at any time. Guests who want a reply changed or removed can ask the host, or write to us with the invitation’s link and we will pass the request on or act on it where we can.

  9. 9.Children

    Birthday and baby shower invitations often feature children. Hosts should only add children’s photos and details they are comfortable sharing with everyone who has the link. Invitara is not designed for use by children without a parent or guardian.

  10. 10.Changes to this policy

    If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
